Welcome to the tuition section where we tell you all about our harp lessons for children and adults.
Harp Lessons Location
Ballinasloe, Co. Galway (covering Westmeath, Galway and Roscommon)
Wednesdays and Thursdays during school term time.
Teaching aims :
By playing music through the harp it develops confidence, happiness, discipline, and opens the mind centres for imagination and creativity.
Harp lessons are open for children from 6 years of age to adulthood. Lessons can be delivered one-to-one, in duos, in trios, or in groups. Whichever lesson format you choose we have regular group sessions for all Levels and sessions to meet others instruments.
We teach with aural learning first and then reading the tunes. Learners can enjoy Irish traditional music and build a progressive knowledge of harmonisation. With an Irish traditional repertoire, learners can look forward to playing with other instruments or to joining the harp ensemble. We help you as well to learn pop music or even some suitable classic music.
About Lizzie
Lizzie has been teaching the Irish Celtic harp since 1992, first through workshops in Europe, then in Brittany through a renowned association and in a national music conservatoire.
Lizzie then taught at the Irish Harp College with Dr Janet Harbison and passed her Irish Teacher Certificates. She set up the Blossom Harp Festival in Tuamgraney which helps to promote the beautiful Clare Village and each year grows in popularity. She directs the Blossom Harp Ensemble since 2013, giving opportunities to her students to learn stagework , to travel with their music in Ireland and even to France, and to exchange with french harpists as well.
Lizzie is also responsible for a resurge in interest for children learning the harp.
