Fiana NI CHONAILL,                  


Eimear Coughlan from Tulla in Co. Clare continues the musical heritage of her grandfather Paddy Canny. As a multi-instrumentalist, she has performed on several music tours throughout Europe with the ‘Irish Harp Orchestra’ under the direction of Janet Harbison. Over the past number of years, Eimear has accumulated 9 All Ireland titles at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and has performed and taught at numerous Traditional Irish Music festivals throughout Ireland. While also a fiddle player, Eimear learned her music from her grandfather and in more recent times, she has been performing with the highly acclaimed Tulla Céilí Band. Eimear’s harp playing can be heard on the new album ‘Úrnua’ with Carl Hession and Francis Cunningham. This album features 40 original compositions by Carl, one of the foremost piano accompanists and orchestral arrangers in Irish Traditional Music.

Nadia Gallagher is an All-Ireland champion harper from Aughnamullen, Co. Monaghan. She began playing the harp at the age of 7 under the tuition of Fionnuala Rooney. She has been teaching music for over 15 years and is also a primary school teacher. She is a member of the Macalla Orchestra under Michael Rooney, and has toured all over world with various artists also. She teaches at home, with her local Comhaltas branch and has taught at Scoil Éigse also. She was a tutor with Scoil Acla in 2006 and is really looking forward to returning to Achill this summer.  

Fiana Ni Chonaill hails from Castleconnell, Co Limerick. She comes from a family that has been involved in Irish music for three generations and was reared in a household immersed in the Irish music tradition. Fiana began learning harp under the tuition of Dr. Janet Harbison and toured extensively throughout Europe as part of the Irish Harp Orchestra. She completed her BA in Irish Music and Dance in 2012 with a First Class Honours degree from the University of Limerick. She went onto graduate from Newcastle University, UK with an Mmus in Musicology in 2013. She is an All-Ireland champion harper and 2016 marked the release of her solo harp CD ‘Dathanna an Cheoil’. Fiana has taught and toured in Ireland, the UK and Europe having been invited to various international harp festivals including the International Harp Meeting in Dinan, France in 2018.
